Design principle of spiral plate heat exchanger

Spiral plate heat exchanger is especially suitable for sludge, mud, wastewater, scaling, high viscosity liquid and liquid containing fibers and solids. Spiral plate heat exchanger is a better solution for applications that need to deal with challenging fluids. The design of spiral plate heat exchanger allows countercurrent flow and can realize heat transfer with small temperature difference.


Because we use spiral metal plate instead of tube bundle, we can achieve very high thermal performance without sacrificing channel gap, thus making the medium unimpeded. The spiral plate heat exchanger plate itself will also produce turbulence, while the single channel design has a "self-cleaning" mechanism, which helps to reduce scaling. The accumulated sediment will locally increase the flow rate, resulting in a flushing effect, which is enough to loosen the sediment in the dirt in most cases. Although they are small and slender, the tortuous flow path provides a very high heat transfer coefficient, which is twice that of shell-and-tube heat exchangers.

Material: carbon steel, stainless steel. Material of spiral plate: carbon steel, stainless steel. Operating pressure up to 16 bar (145 psi) and operating temperature range-20 C to 200 °C (392 °F). Higher pressure can be provided upon request.
